My Website Looks Good But Isn’t Getting Me Clients

Common issue: The site is live & looks pretty good.
And yet, nothing. No inquiries or emails.
Just traffic that shows up, sniffs around, and leaves.
You see, your website, it’s a salesperson.
It’s not an info brochure.
It has a job to do: answer questions, build trust, and make it easy to take the next step.
If your site is pretty but passive, it’s just a very expensive business card that far too wordy.
The unfortunate spoiler: Nobody is reading your website!!!
This is the part people don’t want to hear. Visitors aren’t arriving at your homepage, pouring a coffee, and settling in for a good read. They’re scanning very quickly (a minute at most). Looking for signals, that tell them whether to stay or leave. Whether you or a competitor.
Values, mission, vision, etc doesn’t matter for 99% of businesses (likely yours included).
Every scroll should earn the next one.
“We are a passionate team of dedicated professionals committed to delivering excellence.” Is how you get people to leave.
Think of it like this: content-per-scroll ratio. With every thumb swipe (most web traffic now is on mobile, remember?), they should gain something.
Show what matters
Specific results. Reviews. Pictures. Things like that. The site is a funnel. Answering subconscious questions and overcoming objections.
Are you worth it. Can I trust you. Are you better than others. Should I actually do something about my problem? And so on
Actually read your homepage out loud. If it doesn’t sound like a natural phone call, redo it.
At GOOSEHAUS, every site we build starts with one question: will this actually get the client a client? Every site is built with all the principles above.
